Jape

A bona fide star in his native Ireland Japes sound is best described as an amalgam of Jamie T / Beck / Arab Strap / Yo La Tengo / Hot Chip. Produced by fellow Irishman David Kitt (Rough Trade) Jape's sound melds indie, electronica, blues and hip hop to head-bopping affect.

Adam Freeland's contribution to the "Back To Mine" series presented the world with an insight into Adams love of music beyond the dance floor. Jape's "Floating" was featured in the mix and was one of the most talked about tracks on the album. Since then its had the honour of being covered and played by The Raconteurs and has been gathering underground support from far and wide. After a release in Ireland by our good friends Trust Me I'm A Thief, now the track is finally going to be available on Marine Parade!

Prins Thomas was the perfect candidate for remixing the track and he hasn't failed to deliver. Expect 11 tasteful minutes which manages to keep the original vibe and turn the song into an epic future disko masterpiece. New signing Alex Metric provides Marine Parade fans with the dancefloor panache they've long been associated with... noisy, tough beats with electro stabs. On the 7" we also feature fellow Irishman Son Green who delivers a warped electonica version.
