News

It's been a lot more than a month since we sent you the last newsletter (slackers) but we have been up to much restructuring since the apocalypse and much preparing of musical greatness.

But we're back, and...

Our Website Is UP!

Shocker! You can now find out about everything we and our artists are up to, you can listen to our catalogue using the Marine Player, buy all MP releases via download, physical vinyl or CDs and have merch delivered to your door almost anywhere in the world!

You can also download shitloads of free stuff like ringtones, videos, DJ mixes and live exclusives at MPFree. Check it!

The astute may also have noticed that the new Marine Parade record sleeves have evolved a bit and the old water colour painted shell has been replaced by the above hand drawn double shell image.

Vote for Us!

The breaks poll awards is approaching and since every other label seems to be shamelessly sending out emails in a desperate clamour for your vote, we might as well jump on the bandwagon.

Not that we need to, cos we know that Evil Nine's "You Can Be Special Too" is the best album and that "Crooked" is the best single. And that Evil Nine are the best producers, and that their remix of Alex Dolby's 'Hazy Way' is the best remix, which pretty much makes them the best breakthrough artists!

We also know that alongside Adam Freeland, the Evils are dropping the best DJ sets around, playing science from the best label in the Universe Eva! (Marine Parade)

So if you are sharing any of these thoughts with passion then please spread the love at www.breakspoll.com as soon as possible.

Music

Evil Nine

Right now its all about Evil Nine. Their debut album "You Can Be Special Too" really is something very special. Aptly described by Vice magazine as "The album Dj Shadow should have made next", it's out now and you can get it from our new site via mp3 download or through the post in its real physical specialness. (CD or full DJ friendly double pack fatness.)
You can watch the hilarious Crooked video right here.

The singles "Restless", "Crooked (feat. Aesop Rock)" (including a mix from the breaks originators, Bassbintwins), and all their previous pieces of vinyl glory are all out there too. Check in on the Evil chatroom at www.evilnine.org.

Adam Freeland

Adam Freeland has put out quite a few releases since we last wrote to you:
- Freeland's "Mind Killer", with mixes from Origin Unknow, Ils ans Jags Kooner
- Freeland, Wink, Middleton - "Rise Above" (limited edition vinyl promo)
- A mix album, "Fabric Live 16", showcasing some very tight new science, from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to electro, breaks, drum and bass and house to special Marine Parade megamixes all mashed up with some impossible mixing skills.

Remixwise, he turned Kelis' "Trick Me" into a very deep tribal big soundsystem smasher, and injected some Prodigy-esque largeness into Infusion's new single "Better World". He has just remixed Sarah Vaughan's "Fever' for the next Verve Remixed compilation and is currently working on a new album.

Forme

Forme has just released his new double A-side 12" called "Let It All Out", which is a seriously deep throbbing masterpiece that's had clubs on fire over the party season. He's also recorded a track called "Ignition" for Jonathon Lisle's new Bedrock mix cd and is working on loads of new deepness for us.

On Tour

After playing just about every festival and event possible last year, from rocking 10,000 at Coachella in Palm springs, to touring Europe with Massive Attack, playing Sonar, Shambala, Glastonbury, the Big Chill, Global Gathering, 10 Days Off and many more, plus his monthly Fabric residency and the USA 'We Want Your Vote' tour for six weeks, Adam is now based in Australia working on a new album with monthly escapades into Asia.

He will be doing an upcoming Prodigy tour in Oz, and is then off to USA in April. Adam jumps back into his Fabric residency in May, and we will be hosting a series of Marine Parade nights at Fabric later this year. So if you are in the UK you know where to be!

Evil Nine are still holding down their Urban Guerilla residency in Sheffield and working on their full live show at the moment so watch out for them at the festivals this summer, its going to something special.

Check the Marine Parade site for full gig listings.
