Alex Metric - Deadly On A Mission EP
You'll have heard the dub of Deadly On A Mission on the last Alex Metric EP but it is now released in its full vocal glory! There are mixes by The autoKratz, and Alex, plus brand new club track 'Caller' and a mix of 'In Your Machine' by Treasure Fingers (watch out for Alex's mix of Treasure Fingers 'Cross The Dancefloor' too). The EP is out Oct 20th, and you can hear it at the website now.
As always Alex has been busy remixing and has recently completed mixes for Adam Freeland, Evil Nine, Alphabeat, and indie newcomers The Locarnos.
Evil Nine - They Live!
"To follow up an album as good as their debut is a tall order, but the quality of this record is proof of their unquestionable talent and longevity, even when they go retro they sound cool and now. Bastards. I want to kill them."
Eddy Temple-Morris Xfm
"Large helpings of hip-hop, breaks, post-punk and Krautrock with a splash of cosmic disco and some inspired vocal guests"
DJ Mag Album of the issue -Read full review
After the success of the first new single which is still available in the shop now (including all 6 tracks on wav for 3.99 or high quality mp3 for 2.99!), the next single from the Evil ones is 'All The Cash' which features non other than Def Jux head honcho EL-P. As the guys say "if there was one rapper we really wanted to hook-up with on the album it was EL-P and to our surprise it actually happened. He kills it as usual over our epic, brooding drone-rock stomp....".
As always we have some mixes for the dancefloor from Glitch Mob / Alex Metric / Mumdance. You can grab a download of the Mumdance mix featuring Jammer from our friends at Discobelle now.
The single is out Nov 3rd, with the album released October 27th! Check all mixes on the site now, plus we've posted up 3 other tunes from the album to get you excited. The epic 'Icicles' featuring Seraphim, the rocky 'Twist The Knife' with Emily Breeze, and the melancholy but uplifting 'The Wait' featuring David autoKratz.
The Evils have put together a full live band which will be touring this autumn, check the Events page for where they are playing...
Adam Freeland
Yes the album is finished, with his new band 'Adam Freeland & The Fury' which is set for an early 09 release. Read about it in his recent interview on his myspace blog.
He has just remixed Nick Cave's band Grinderman for Mute records. After hearing Adam's Bootleg on his Radio One Essential mix (which can be downloaded from his myspace blog) Nick personally asked Adam to do an official remix of No Pussy blues which you can hear here
Adam has also contributed a remix for the forthcoming 'Amazon Tribe - Songs For Survival' album. Bruce Parry recorded tribal music whilst filming his 'Amazon' series, and has put together an album for the charity Survival International. It features other mixes and contributions from: Hot Chip, Hybrid, Mystery Jets, and more. Buy from Amazon / iTunes.
